Database Manager is just like an ftp client, only it runs from your web browser. This is great if you plan on going away and want to be able to still update your site. Database Manager can do all of the following: 

• List the contents of a directory with proper icons, size in bytes, last modified date, and chmod permissions.
• Create, edit, copy, rename, and delete files.
• Create, rename, and remove directories.
• Upload up to 5 files at once.
• Find and replace text within certain file types in a directory
• Password protect a directory with .htaccess/.htpasswd/.htgroup protection, which allows for multiple usernames. Easy to use interface for adding users, changing existing users passwords, and removing users.
• Manage error documents for 401, 403, 404, and 500 errors.
• Track how much space in KB your site is taking up.
• View information about your server environment.
